HOW TO GET STARTED RIGHT IN YOUR NEW LIFE IN CHRIST
As a member of God’s family, the Lord wants you to know the joy of your salvation and the peace of His presence. There is no magic formula, but just as a newborn baby grows physically, so you will grow spiritually by taking the following steps.
1. Worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where "Faith Alone In Christ Alone" is preached.
John 4:24 - "God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth."
Psalms 122:1 - "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD."
Acts 2:41, 42 - "Then they that gladly received His word were baptized; and the same day there were added unto them about three thousands souls. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers."
Hebrews 10:25 - "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the day approaching."
2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
Philippians 4:6, 7 - "Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Ephesians 3:20,21 - "Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."
3. Read your Bible every day so that you can grow in wisdom, learn how to live the Christian way of life, and grow in Grace towards spiritual maturity.
1 Peter 2:2 - "As newborn babes desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby."
Acts 17:11 - "These were more noble . . . in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."
2 Timothy 2:15 - "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Hebrews 4:12 - "For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul spirit, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
Isaiah 55:9 - “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
Proverbs 4:5 - “Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.”
Proverbs 1:7 - “The respect of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Proverbs 2:6 - “For the LORD gives wisdom: out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding.”
Proverbs 3:13 - “Happy is the man that finds wisdom, and the man that gets understanding.”
Proverbs 4:7 - “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding.”
Proverbs 8:11 - “For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.”
Proverbs 16:16 - “How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!”
4. Tell others about Christ.
1). Be a Witness by Telling Others about Christ.
Matthew 4:19 - "And He saith unto them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."
Romans 1:16 - "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
Mark 16:15 - "And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."
2 Timothy 2:2 - "And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."
2). Be a Witness by Your Life - (LIVING YOUR TALK).
2 Corinthians 2:2 - "ye are our epistle written in our hearts, KNOW and READ of all men . . ."
2 Corinthians 6:3 - "Giving NO OFFENSE in any thing, that the MINISTRY be not blamed; but in all things approving ourselves as the MINISTER OF GOD."
